WHS Marching Band and Color Guard Class Syllabus |

Marching Band and Color Guard are performance classes that require time outside of the regular school day and some weekends. Band students must be able to read music and play their instrument at a high school level. Membership in both band and guard is by permission of the instructor.
Requirements
All students are required to attend rehearsals on a daily bases. Students may not miss rehearsals to make up other class work without permission of the Band Director. Students are required to show up on time, with their equipment prepared for class.
Students are required to attend all performances. Please take a moment to review the attached calendar.
Students will be required to write a one-page critique of all festival performances.
Students will be required to purchase marching shoes, approximately $20.00, white gloves or guard gloves approximately $3.00-$7.00 and a band/guard shirt approximately, $18.00.
Students are required to attend one Woodcreek High School Performing Arts Department performance other than a Marching Band-Symphonic Band – Color Guard performance.
Grading Student’s grades are based on the following:
Performance Attendance 40% Daily Participation 50% Performance Critique 10% |
