WHS Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Workshop Class Syllabus |

Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Workshop are performance classes that require time outside of the regular school day and some weekends. Jazz Ensemble is an audition class.
Requirements
All students are required to attend rehearsals, 6:45 AM. Students may not miss rehearsals to make up other class work without permission of the Jazz Director. Students are required to show up on time, with their equipment prepared for class.
Jazz Band students are required to keep a weekly practice log. Practice logs will be turned in, for credit, every Thursday.
Students are required to attend all performances. Please take a moment to review the attached calendar.
Students will be required to write a one-page critique of all festival performances.
Students are required to complete a weekly listening assignment. Students may check out Jazz CD’s and/or LP’s from the Music Library. Listening assignments will be turned in, for credit, every Thursday.
Students are required to attend one Woodcreek High School Performing Arts Department performance other than a Jazz Ensemble performance.
Grading
Student’s grades are based on the following:
